Story
The Estel Building is a municipal monument designed in 1972 by architect Alexander Bodon as the head office of Estel (the German-Dutch Hoesch–Hoogovens merger). In 1977 it came into use, later serving for decades as Royal Haskoning’s headquarters, before being transformed into Estel Residence—62 luxury apartments that retained the signature terraced steel-and-glass silhouette. Did you know it won the National Steel Prize (1977) and the European Steel Award (1979), and—after its conversion—the Nijmegen Architecture Prize (2019)?
